Clearly, we all have a right to expression, the question is how far can that right take us? Can we liable people, or post their private information on public websites if we should have them? How about personal attacks?
As the FDU (see www.freedigitaluniverse.com) develops the Rights of Digital Soules co-creating this unique virtual universe, boundaries between privacy and expression will need to be well delineated. Where do you think the line should be drawn? |

do we have a right to fun? or is life mostly work like my dad does? I have to say he seems to have fun doing his work - which is the Free Digital Universe and all its many parts. My favorites are this University, PeacePortal.mobi, and my arcade (J & Es Place) at the sample cybermall you can visit at http://shop.peaceportal.mobi
Peace to eberyone, and have fun |

| FDU_Soule | What limits on "Rights of Privacy" are warranted in a Digi Community? | 1 | Jul 6 2008, 8:34 PM EDT by jlovik2 | ||

A "Digital Account" such as the one you are using here at the Free Digital University has inherent "privacy" protections in so much as you may stay anonymous, that is your "Legal Body" with a Social Security number, name, age, address, and other private information attached to your Physical Body is not asked for; although you may volunteer it on your profile pages.
What limits should we put on others from posting your private information, embarrassing incidents, or outright lies being told about you or others? Is there "private information" that people should have access too under any circumstances? For example, in the FDU Game people may publish material but they are required to provide their personal information to the company and Users as to the authorship in order to uphold International Copyright laws. Besides Authors who are benefiting commercially from the sale of their published work, in what other circumstances should privacy and anonymity be infringed upon, and to what extent? |
