A little about me:
I just left academia and am looking to do my dream to help people, especially people in impoverished areas and developing places. Twenty years ago I wrote a term paper to create an international ecotourism consulting company (now I call it experiential tourism). After twenty years working in various capacities for state agencies and universities I realized my dream wasn't going to come true working inside of those agencies.

I have always been most interested in working with a team to "make a difference." Academia was very interesting, but in my opinion there is an immense amount of wasted intellectual energies, that could be converted into incredible contributions to the world. I'm ready to make the shift to another realm.

So, here I am getting started anew. I have a vast amount of knowledge and skills, but I am working to build a network of people in hopes that they can help me find people who might need my skills and passion.

I am also a very spiritual person because in my life I have learned that what is really real for me, is Love and being of Service to others. My parents passed in the last few years and that is what they taught me.

I am an excellent writer, visionary thinker, organizer but I am not just "management", I also know how to get things done. I am not afraid of getting my hands dirty, so to speak. In fact, that is my real joy! I have held many, many jobs in my life including custodian, welder, bus driver, limousine driver, maintenance supervisor, extension professor, etc. I meet all people as my equal.

Motivations
About 5 years ago I began to get quite sad thinking about my kids growing up and learning about the World what we call "reality", and then having to live in it. But then, a still small voice said "then change it!". Either way I win. If I make a difference and it changes that is the best. But even if it doesn't, I win too, because at least I did my best.

I pasted the lyrics to a great song below by the Moody Blues that I think has many mystical, and spiritual meanings. It provides a great introduction to my current philosophy to life. We are conscious beings, all connected into an incredibly wonderous, magical universe that works through waves of energy (and pure potentiality) that are manifested through thought and fueled by our feelings. I believe my positive, passionate, Loving feelings come directly from Source (or God). And my job here, is to pursue my dreams and passions and to work to promote happiness and do all in my power to help everyone have access to the basic necessities of life. At the same time we need to care for the Earth!

Below I have pasted what I wrote last year for My Mission. I probably need to update this (since I have done a great amount of inner, spiritual work), but essentially it still works.

I have a pet project underway, that is a direct result of my PhD work looking at small nature tourism business use of the Internet. The project is called a "collaborative network" and the domain that I plan to use is IAmSharing.com. I have also parked IAmLives, IAmLoves and IAmLearning.org. If you comprehend the meaning of these domains, and if any of what I have shared here resonates with you, I would really like to hear from you.
